We have stayed here several times with Travelux. The hotel is small only 16 rooms but it is wonderful for that get away from it all break.it is at the end of the inlet of the sea and the views are very pretty. The rooms are basic but comfortable and as with most of Greece the showers are inadequate but you get use to it and the toilet paper in the bin! The hotel has its own boat jetty which is very useful. The continental breakfast is fine and the locally baked bread delicious! The swimming is quite large for a small hotel and very clean. The staff are great and always very helpful, the owners pop by too on occasion and always have a lovely greeting for you! With Travelux you have the added benefit of having a car or boat or both if there are 4 Adults in your group. This is superb as you can explore many places with either vehicle. The area has lots to offer and nearby there are some stunning little coves and beaches that are only accessible by boat, certainly worth exploring. Just a few minutes walk from the hotel there are several good restaurants offering a delight of Greek food and nothing is too much trouble! Our favourite is the Seaside restaurant where Costa has many delicious dishes to tempt you with and often his "Mamma" will make you the dish of the day, try sampling the fried courgettes they are to die for!! Nidri is only a small village on the other side of the inlet but here there are many tavernas and restaurants offering almost anything you wish to eat, also a great bakery and other shops. A bit further down the coast is a small but sandy beach. We always go at the beginning of June so it's never really crowded and the weather is great, hot & sunny!! Trips can be made to nearby Megannissi & Fiscardo(Kefalonia) by the local ferry from Nidri. Both are a nice short trip and lovely for a day out. We visited here a few years ago and have returned many times, yes it is simple but if you are prepared to take the risk I'm confident you won't be disappointed! The hotel has many steps so not really suitable for the infirm or small children with buggies.
